Brokers work for brokerage firms and dealers. Their job is to maximize the profits of their company's own stockholders by promoting and selling the products their company tells them to. In a sense, a broker is a salesperson.
That's not to say that there are not well-meaning honest brokers in the world. It is crucial, however, that investors recognize the simple truth about their relationship with their broker.
BUYER BEWARE!
